DIANE K. WOODS

Diane has a background in the industry that spans over thirty-five years.  She has managed sales and office personnel, written and conducted national training programs for Sales, Management, Business Planning and Service Efficiencies and developed and marketed National Programs.  As President and CEO of a national insurance franchise organization, Diane was responsible for putting into place exclusive products, programs, services, training and consulting to independent agents internationally.  She also served as Director of Program Development for American Phoenix Corporation.  Diane has implemented, monitored and taught insurance courses (Law & Regulations, Property, Casualty, et.) for the Connecticut State Council of the National Association of Insurance Women, where she started a School of Insurance.  She has done extensive teaching and consulting for various industries through her own company Professional Training & Consulting.  She has written and implemented programs, as a consultant for The Hartford School of Insurance and the Professional Insurance Agents of America. (PIA)

Diane attended Catholic University of America and earned a degree in Journalism.  She also attended the Hospital of  St. Raphael School of Nursing in conjunction with Yale University, University of Georgia.

She has published various articles on insurance agency management, efficiencies, employee motivation, sales and program development in various insurance periodicals.  Diane is a motivational speaker on insurance related topics for various organizations within the industry as well as outside the industry.  Diane brings a positive attitude and energetic style to everything she does and is a well respected motivational speaker.  She motivates those around her with a let’s get it done approach, while motivating people to feel good about themselves and their careers.

Mrs. Woods has been an active member of the Independent Insurance Agents of America; Professional Insurance Agents of America; Served on the Executive Board Catholic Family Services/Catholic Charities; Served on the Board of Junior League of Greater New Britain, CT; Life Member-New Britain General Hospital Auxiliary and St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center Auxiliary; Corporator of New Britain General Hospital; Member Advisory Board Piedmont Medical Center, SC;   Member of the Hartford Association of Insurance Women and National Association of Insurance Women; Past  Member of Charlotte Association of Insurance Women; Member of American Society of Training and Development; Member-Connecticut Department of Insurance Review Board; Member of the United States Power Squadron and served two terms as Commander of Catawba Sail & Power Squadron and is a safe boating course instructor’;  Member of ASAE-American Society of Association Executives; Member of Honorable Order of Blue Goose; Served on the Agent’s Council of New London County Mutual Insurance Company;  Member of Shuttle Meadow Country Club in CT; Member of York County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Past  Chairperson of the Tega Cay Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors for Move Fort Mill Forward; Member WISE- Women In Self Employment;  Served as a Hospice Volunteer in CT; Former member of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department Headquarters Company 1 – Public Information Officer and Fire and Life Safety Officer for Fire Prevention Bureau; Past President of the Gwinnett Fire Department Alumni Association; graduated from the Gwinnett County Fire Department Citizen Fire Academy;  Former Member of Tega Cay Rescue Squad; Member of South Carolina  State Firefighters Association;  Certified SC Firefighter with the Tega Cay Fire Department and their Fire Prevention Officer; Extrication Certified; Nationally certified CPR, Basic Life Support and CPR/AED Instructor. Diane has won the highest Fire Life Safety Award in SC,  the Aaron Small Education Award;  Won Business of the Year Award in 2011 from the York County Regional Chamber, Volunteer of the Year by  City of  Tega Cay.

Diane loves the time she spends with her husband and life partner, Les, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoys a good game of golf, community volunteer activities, reading, sharing time with her family, friends, fire families and working in her home art studio.  Success to her is helping people anyway she can.  She always says that people are not difficult but different and we come into each others life for a reason.  Be Safe!
